Hell yes! This pretty much confirms for me that I will save my thief/assassin Skyrim playthrough until i have Dawnguard, though; seems well suited to a darker type of character. But that’s ok ‘cus I am having fun with my Mazken thief character in Oblivion, and I haven’t even made it out of the Shivering Isles yet, so i have lots of time left with him.
So, went to my Cafepress account to check up on things in regards to my shop, and was presented with 3 fails on Cafepress’ part in rapid succession. First, I typed ‘cafepress.com’ into the address bar, it detected I was in Canada, so redirects me to… cafepress.co.uk. had to change to cafepress.ca manually. If you’re going to redirect people to the appropriate domain for their country, at least get it right. geez. then, I checked my earnings.

um. ok then… I’ve cleared more than I’ve earned, apparently :p But as long as the totals come out right, whatever. The big fail was the picture above. Cafepress added a bunch of new products, so I went to go add them, and was presented with the above, much to my horror. Blank products which USED to have images on them. Tons of them, more than can be shown with one screenshot, it will take hours to fix the damage. I have no idea how long it’s been like that. >.<</p>
I have a Zazzle shop too, and would like to be able to use that as my primary shop, but Cafepress simply has a more active marketplace, so I sell more there, and I keep it around. :-/ Zazzle sells so little i actually kinda gave up on it and not everything is added and I have yet to finish making custom icons for the sections (mostly because I can’t decide how to organize it because Zazzle’s organization scheme is really strange).
So this is the game Kickstarter bought… I wasn’t expecting them to have this much done so soon! Looks cool kinda adventure game meets puzzle platformer, with multiple charcters. I bit like Trine, but i love Trine, so that’s cool.

I know! I was gonna post the same thing… the tongue bar shoved through his lip is bad enough, (nevermind the infection I worry about his poor teeth and gums!) but when he was pulling on his right ear especially, there is an obvious thinning spot right near his face.
This a bit late (like a month after it was posted :p) but just discovered the Awful Modifications tumblr and have been going through it… horrors… I wear acrylic jewelry in my (fully healed! would never wear it in a healing piercing) ears and I know that’s not exactly ideal, but that’s the worst I’ve ever done.
REAL metal bands have a fiddle and an accordion in their ranks, they also wear furs and paint their faces with fake blood.

Though I did not think it possible, I have found something more tedious to draw than scales… feathers. I’ve had this guy in the works for a long time now, but every time I open it, I get to inking the feathers (I used a method in Photoshop to give a rough vector inking of the pencil drawing as a starting point, but it still needs work to smooth things over afterwards, and it really lost it with the feathers) and I just get bored and don’t finish. :p As with scales, it’s just so repetitive. And then there’s those veins in the middle of the feathers that are taking the longest. (and of course you can’t even really tell when it’s shrunk down for the web, but I sell 70 inch posters, so needs to be high res!) But I really like how the face and tail look… (but I always do have fun with the hair) I am determined to finish the inks on this tonight, though.
I added a new teaser on Kentauroi’s website today (well, yesterday). Did it because I had a little panic when I realized the mouseover on the map was not working in Internet Explorer (*shakes fist* fuck you, IE. I hate you.) If the mouseovers don’t work, then IE people can’t read the comic as I intended! ack! (I could swear it DID work though, I think it may have broken in IE 9 specifically) but that was done a while back in ImageReady, not Fireworks which has updated Javascript. (ImageReady used to come free with Photoshop, but Adobe discontinued it and rolled that functionality into Fireworks) so I had to make a new sliced and diced image with rollover effects to see if it worked in IE with the new code, so cobbled this together quickly. It works. whew.

So, I spent some time today going through all the save games and deleting all of them from all 3 of my playthroughs except the end ones and the save right before fighting Letho since that’s the key branching point. Took a while, I had a LOT of saved games. :p Anyway, loaded up the two ending save games from my first playthroughs, one on Iorveth’s path and one on Roche’s path and saw the new cutscenes for each. I still think Iorveth’s path ends better overall, because I tend to sympathize with the underdog, which is the elves and dwarves here, especially since i killed Saskia on Roche’s path just to see what happened (but in my personal canon playthrough, she will live, cus Saskia is all kinds of awesome) but in the new cutscene on my Iorveth path, it explained just how badly screwed the town of Flotsam ended up due to me letting Loredo live. He sold the town to the enemy. What an ass. So, I think now I need to do 4 playthroughs for when they come out with Witcher 3, since there are 4 ways to pick a side after the Letho fight. 2 which leave Loredo alive, one for each path, and 2 with him dead. But it will pain me to not give Iorveth his sword in that critical moment. Cus seriously, Roche had no right to follow me, though it ends badly for the town. In that moment, it’s the right thing to do. Though really the number of ending states is kind of mind boggling, the characters you can let live or die is fairly numerous and a number of them could have a BIG impact on the war with Nilfgaard in game 3 because they wield a lot of power either magically or politically which could turn the tide of the war…. and if the CD Projekt Red guys live up to their promise, the Witcher 3 will do everything right that Mass Effect 3 did wrong in regards to the ending by having your decisions from previous games have a large impact on the ultimate outcome of the trilogy.
For those that haven’t played, Iorveth is the leader of a rebel band of Scoia’tael freedom fighters who see themselves as fighting for the freedom of their people, elves and dwarves, who are treated very badly by the humans and have had their culture all but wiped out. Roche is leader of the Blue Stripes, a band of special soldiers tasked with fighting the Scoia’tael, who Roche sees as bandits. You arrived in town with Roche, who helped spring you from prison, so yeah that gets him some points, but… You and Iorveth hatch a plan to capture the big bad, Letho, after you reveal to Iorveth that Letho has betrayed him. You approach Letho with Iorveth bound, but his archers in the trees, and once you’re close to Letho with his guard down, you and Iorveth’s archers will kill Letho. It’s not a bad plan, all things considered. Well, it turns out that Roche follows you without telling you about it, and as soon as Iorveth’s men make their move, the soldiers following Roche, who have a grudge against the Scoia’tael, attack them rather than Letho, and things get messy. Iorveth asks for his sword back, if you give it to him the elves win, is you don’t, the humans win (‘cus he’s just that badass, that he can turn the tide singlehandedly). But if Roche had just trusted you and let the plan unfold, everything would have been fine. But, I really like Iorveth, he’s one of my favorite characters, I tend to side with him by default, and I REALLY hope he plays a large role in the third game.

Niiiice! I still haven’t gotten to this scene in my own playthrough of the Enhanced Edition, I’m in no particular hurry, since I already know how it ends, though I do want to see the new content. Just made it to Act 2. (Iorveth’s path) I’m playing in Dark Mode, and if I made it through Act 1, I think I’m gonna do just fine, since Act 1 is the hardest. Those wraiths in the Melitele’s Heart quest were a bitch, though. Resorted to cheap tactic of spamming bombs and daggers from the edge of the clearing. On the other hand, Endegra Queens not nearly as hard as I remembered…
anyway, as long as I can team up with Iorveth against the Nilfgaardians, I’ll be happy. <3 Iorveth.
OMG, what the hell, people? This is cannibalism! Didn’t we grow out of this already?
You know what this reminds me of? The widest spread instance of cannibalism in human history: Victorian England’s upper class. For real. Egyptian mummies were thought to have medicinal properties, a practice which began in medieval Middle East, but really reached the peak of popularity during the Egypt craze in Victorian England. They’d grind up the mummies and make the powder into a tea to ‘treat’ all sorts of ailments. The practice became so popular that they eventually ran out of genuine mummies, and began digging up contemporary corpses and drying them out to meet the demand. It’s shocking that so many people during that time managed to justify cannibalism to themselves by convincing themselves that Egyptian mummies weren’t people.
I am actually going to include a story based on the whole mummy powder thing in Kent, which is how I know about it (that, and I am a total mummy nut). I never expected it to have a contemporary counterpart, though. I mean, I know alternative medicine has all sorts of crazy shit, but I thought it stopped short of grinding up babies.
So. I saw The Avengers today, finally. Decided after seeing everyone gush about it endlessly that I did definitely have to see this one in theatres. Holy shit, it actually lived up to the hype! It was pretty amazing, and fully deserving of it’s box office domination. I was impressed (but not terribly surprised, since it’s Joss Whedon, and this is kinda one of his specialties) how they gave every character a chance to shine, even new additions to the team. And Hulk is finally awesome after they stumbled with him in his solo movies. That scene with Loki, you know the one, so awesome.
(also, as always, movie Thor is hot. so hot.)

So, it’s Free Comic Book Day! who went and got free comics? I did, despite it looking like this outside:
WTF?! It’s MAY! and it was BEAUTIFUL outside just yesterday. It’s not just snowflakes it’s big wet clumps of snow. I don’t have a car, I had to get there on the freaking train. I was SOAKED. But, the shop, Another Dimension Comics, seemed very busy despite the snow. Though, sadly they did not have the Stormwatch hardcover in stock like i was hoping D: oh well, guess I’ll have to go back. :p
As for the free stuff, got the expected big ones, from Marvel and DC, as well as a few others for myself, but the big reason for the trip was to get comics for my nieces, Alanna and Brianna. Alanna’s a great reader and I had gotten her comics to read before, I gave her my old Herobear and the Kid books, and some Tintin, and Fraggle Rock. Bri… she struggles with reading, I was hoping comics would help encourage her to read, and think i found some that are her level. Got Adventure Time/Peanuts, Mouseguard (as an aside, holy shit, a hardcover? for FREE? wow!), Tinkerbell/Smurfs, Superman Family Adventures/Young Justice for them. I think it was a success:

I agree… but I will say that I found this issue a whole lot less cringeworthy than Cornell’s issues, with motormouth slimy used car salesman Midnighter. He was more reserved, which is a step in the right direction. I think Milligan is going somewhere with Midnighter, and will be actually doing some, you know, *character development* and he will become something more than a collection of cliches. We can’t expect all the damage to be undone in one issue. But yeah, the way they just kinda brushed over Midnighter’s creepy behaviour towards Apollo is disappointing. On the one hand, I can understand why, because he was, you know, creepy, get him away from that, please. But it just makes Apollo look like a doormat. Apollo’s better than that.
So… yeah. still not what I would want from the characters, but I can’t deny that it’s looking like it will end up being an improvement overall. That they continue to use the name Lucas for him, and even went far as to add the Trent name, just illustrates how little research Cornell and/or the editors did, though. There was exactly ONE name we knew his real name WASN’T in Wildstorm, and it was Lucas Trent, he just thought it might be for a while. but this is something Milligan was saddled with, and there isn’t much he can do about it. But it will continue to irk me.
Also, I liked this bit of dialogue, even if it was kind of bittersweet:
Engineer: “For some time now, we’ve been monitoring an organization called the Green Lanterns. they consider themselves the ultimate authority on Earth.” Midnighter: “I thought that was supposed to be us.”
I miss The Authority :(
And yeah, holy fuck, was the art hideous this issue… thankfully, it is Sepulveda’s last.
