Was reading Happy by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson and something hit me… Grant Morrison re-used an old panel and got it past the censors this time. The top panel is from The Authority #28, Midnighter shoots Teuton in the back of the head while rescuing Apollo. Bottom is from Happy #1, a hitman gets double crossed.
Now, the Authority #28 is notable for two reasons. 1, this panel in particular got censored, it originally did have a hole exploding through the front of his forehead, just like the Happy panel. It is also the issue that started the long standing feud between Mark Millar and Grant Morrison, because while Millar’s name ended up on the cover, Grant Morrison actually wrote the issue. So I am pretty sure the similarity is intentional.
