Well, it helps a lot that the title has had an…unsavoury history. (Translation: MILLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR)
But the Ellis years are practically essential reading when it comes to superhero books. (Then again, as a general rule, the Ellis anything is essential reading)
Yeah, it definitely had some… less than stellar moments. But I would recommend Ellis and Brubaker’s runs in particular to anyone. (But I, too, am a huge Warren Ellis fan) And luckily, you can skip the bad runs fairly easily without being lost.
