Midnighter #6 (2015)

This reveal was actually really good, and I never saw it coming. I mean part of that is because  I don’t know much about Prometheus (more of a Marvel girl, and Wildstorm before it bit the dust) but the more I read about him on Wikipedia, the more clever I see this is.

And he was hiding right under our noses because of Apollo. Midnighter gets a boyfriend with white hair, of course everyone thinks it’s some nod to Apollo. I found it annoying, frankly, because if you’re gonna put him with an Apollo lookalike, why bother breaking them up at all? I hated him in his civilian disguise, because I wanted Apollo back, not some impostor. But now I see that Prometheus had white hair as well, so under other circumstances, that would have been a big clue, but because of his physical resemblance to Apollo, everyone overlooked it. And maybe we were all supposed to be annoyed by this lame replacement Apollo. Also, now we have two characters in the DCU BOTH named after Greek gods, BOTH with white hair, BOTH now with a connection to Midnighter? I’m sensing some kind of connection, I am guessing Prometheus here will be getting a new origin for the New 52, and it may serve as an origin for Apollo as well.
