The A-Force questions

clar-isima:

So I’ve read issue 1, and I must say I loved the line up (America Chavez I love you!), and the premise, but I’m a little bit confused about a couple of things…

1) Which Loki is this? After reading Agent of Asgard 14 I’m reeeeeeally confused about it; she doesn’t have a broken horn nor does she look pale and kinda sick like she does in AoA, which brings me to my next question…

2) WHEN is this happening? (I’m not really following secret wars, and I don’t know what issues to read, and I’m kinda sick of crossovers) Is it after the whole secret wars shebang?

Because if it’s after all that (and if it is, isn’t it kinda spoilery?), I guess it could be the same Loki, once she recuperates… maybe?

Answering this way cus the answers won’t fit in the regular answer field:

1) It is not any Loki we have seen previously, though it is most similar to Loki during JMS’ run on Thor, when Loki was inhabiting Sif’s body for a while. But Loki was still definitely a villain in JMS’ run. It appears that this Loki is a longtime ally of A-force (basically Arcadia’s Avengers), has adopted America and Nico, and stuff so… brand new never before seen Loki, who does not seem like a villain, though there was talk in some upcoming solicits of a teammate betraying the others.

2) It is happening during Secret Wars, which IS technically after the events of Agent of Asgard, but… it’s complicated. The universe gets destroyed, and in the wake of that is Battleworld, it is a mashup of many many different universes, and each area can have a version of literally any character in the MU (except America Chavez, there is only one). There are literally over a dozen confirmed Wolverines running around,  and he’s dead in 616 (the designation given to the main universe). Though he is a bit of an extreme example. There are 3 Lokis on Battleworld that we know of so far. This one, the one in Thors who stands accused of murder, and zombie Loki in Age of Ultron vs Marvel Zombies and the main Secret Wars book. We have not seen any mention of Agent of Asgard Loki so far, but he may pop up somewhere. Given that America is a 616 character and yet is somehow here on Arcadia, with memories of a life there, it could be that at least some of the others are 616 but with their memories tampered with as well.
