Gail Simone did a thing on Twitter earlier. I captured it here for your perusal.
I may have ranted a bit. :)
Anyway, there’s still a LOT to address, but I feel like we are at least pointed in the direction of the mountain top!
Completely forgot about these redesigned ZIM characters I did a while back. It’s a little late to use them in issues 1 and 2 of the comics, but I think I can transition over to them for issue 3 without people noticing.

so , guess who just got a new Samsung Galaxy Note Tablet?
It’s pretty awesome. Writing this post on it right now.
I got this type because it’s pretty good for drawing on, still playing around with that, trying out different apps, but seems to work pretty well so far.

Neither of them is wearing sensible footwear for the apocalypse. you’d think the apocalypse calls for sturdy shoes.
I’m actually really surprised it’s taken this long for anybody to message me about this!
Nah, I wouldn’t mind, really. The 0-100 system does have its faults, and it’s a little simple. This video does a really good job of explaining a better system, and yesterday on my personal blog I made this post explaining my thoughts on how the ideas in this video could also expand on a challenge-based reward system
While I do like Fallout’s system as-is, I’m not a fan of how broad it is, and I don’t think removing skills and moving to this system would be simplifying it, so much as it would be streamlining it. If anything, it may actually become more complex and have greater depth, while being easier to approach.
I mean, think of it this way: instead of just raising your guns skill so you can use pistols better (which also make you better with rifles and shotguns and miniguns and everything else that uses the guns skill), you instead just take a perk that increases your skill with them. On top of that, if you complete challenges specifically with pistols, you get perks that improve your ability with them.
It’s a really happy medium between the Fallout system and the Elder Scrolls (and in particular, Skyrim) system. It would also make skills dynamic. AND, on top of that, it could phase out the super broad skills that do a lot of different things (i.e. “science”) and instead have different perks that affect different aspects of that skills (chemist-related perks, hacking-related perks, energy weapon-related crafting perks, etc.)
If perks are implemented in a dynamic way that allows them to stack, and they keep a healthy balance of skill-affecting perks (like “Commando”) and other general game-changing perks (like “Mysterious Stranger”), then this system could actually be a hell of a lot better for character building, and would make roleplaying easier and more fun, as well as making the game more replayable overall
Same-sex couples now have right to marry in all 50 states
(WASHINGTON) — The Supreme Court declared Friday that same-sex couples have a right to marry anywhere in the United States.
Gay and lesbian couples already can marry in 36 states and the District of Columbia. The court’s 5-4 ruling means the remaining 14 states, in the South and Midwest, will have to stop enforcing their bans on same-sex marriage.
The outcome is the culmination of two decades of Supreme Court litigation over marriage, and gay rights generally.
>Really excited for Mark Waid’s upcoming Avengers run and love the lineup. Seems fitting to post this segment from an interview with the late/great Dwayne McDuffie discussing fan response to his Justice League comic run before it even began-
“And before I knew it, I had broken what I call the Rule of Three. And that rule is, in popular entertainment, if there are three black people in it, it is a black product. You can have two black guys, although it’s a stretch. If you have three, it’s a black show.
“But there is a hardcore piece of the audience whose back goes up whenever you go into these issues, and they don’t even realize it. And what kills me about it is that when they’re writing about it, they’re always hyperrational. You know, Look the fact is, there are more white characters, and if you picked randomly, you would end up with all white teams. And the fact that there were three black people on this team is statistically ridiculous. It’s obviously a quota. And the quota arguments on fictional teams crack me up. Because who’s actually I’m sorry, is somebody losing a job here? Which fictional character is losing a job? There’s no connection. They’re not talking about what’s going on in the comics. They’re talking about what they think is going on in their lives (and that’s not really going on either.)”>
What Dwayne says is absolutely true, maybe even more so these days. That said, we didn’t quite manage to crack the Rule of Three on ANAD AVENGERS–but then, we were only working with a cast of seven in total.
Just a few thoughts on the latest issue of Agent of Asgard. Spoilers lie ahead.
So, I can see now what Al’s hints about Verity meant, though I was kinda off track on my initial conclusions (… maybe?). oh well, it’s how it goes when you speculate about stories. But I was right about the bracelet, and did figure she must have had some connection to Roger Willis. My thought now is that this is how Loki keeps Verity’s story from becoming corrupted on Battleworld. Loki may not realize what Doom will end up doing right now, and just think they’re saving her period, but still. If the incursion happened and Verity was there, then she (like everyone else on Battleworld) would have had their stories re-written by Doom. By having Verity tell her story, Loki was able to save that story, her essence, and can save it from being rewritten. Once LOKI is on Battleworld (we have yet to see which of the Lokis is the 616 one, but I can’t think of any that we have seen so far that has that bracelet, so ‘our’ Loki may not have appeared yet) if he can use Verity’s essence to see through the giant fucking lie that is Battleworld… and one would hope once Secret Wars is over, Verity can be restored. Loki is the god of stories now, it should be well within his capabilities to re-make her.
A little disappointed that Loki was not involved in rescuing Lorelei and Sigurd, though events did match up with Odin’s words from earlier. It’s just that it was largely Loki’s fault they were on the Isle of Silence (though, a big part of that was Odin being dramatic too) so I hoped that he would be the one to put things right there.
Mixed feelings about Freyja’s sacrifice. I was hoping for more interaction with her and Loki (not King Loki, fuck him)

This is my theme song today.
So the time is right, So tell me if you wanna?
You should change it if you’re gonna…
But I don’t really know how… I’ve already tried…
INVOLVE.
I don’t want to save my soul now… I don’t want to lose control…
And even if it takes a lifetime to learn… I’LL LEARN.
Don’t fall in line… If you’re thinking that you’re gonna…
You should maybe think about a reason in your own mind…
You’ve already gone!
EVOLVE.
I don’t wanna save my soul now… I just wanna LOSE CONTROL!
And even if it takes a lifetime to learn… I’ll learn… I’ll learn…
WE LEARN!
Here’s our defense…heroes defensive, heroes left you to die.
YOU LEFT ME TO DIE!
I don’t wanna save my soul now… I don’t wanna lose control…
So even if it takes our lifetime to learn… I’ll learn… I’ll learn…
WE ALL LEARN!
