I’m a bit of a stickler when it comes to composition. It usually takes me ages to put one night image together in the field. I’m sure many fellow photographers can relate!

Sometimes you get lucky and Mother Nature does all the work. A couple of nights ago I was stumbling about in the dark and taking test shots just to see what was in front of me when I came across this fine leading line, with Mount Patterson and Mars waiting at the end of it. Gotta love when you get those “freebies” in the field!
