yo, before we all freak out. taking a look at the cover of AoA #12, and then the revelations in the summary of #13, its very possible that king loki of christmas future is trying to devour loki ala ikol and loki in journey into mystery #645 and take his body (and possibly his role, because we know gods are stories etc etc).
then there’s gram “What lie - or truth - will save him now?”

Yeah, I had this thought as well.
As for the truth… Either Gram or Verity seems likely, to me, but I lean towards Verity, simply because King Loki created Gram. Would he create the instrument of his own undoing? Also, there is one other bit of oddness to consider on the cover, which may count as another ‘truth’ about Loki. Doesn’t his coat look kinda… small? Either he shrunk his coat (and pants, they are too short too) in the wash, or he’s grown like a foot. He may be getting his Jotun on. (which, if that is what’s going on, I have mixed feelings about, because I think the fact that he has rejected his frost giant heritage is important to the character)
i figured his clothes were ripped there.
but i think the idea of loki screwing himself over is interesting. which gram would essentially be that undoing. we have loki going back into the past pre-siege to oversee the events that would eventually damn him, and then ikol overseeing kid loki’s fate. there’s a very obvious pattern of self-destruction so i would not be surprised if he made gram and gram undid him.
That’s true, Loki IS his worst enemy, always has been, and it would have some delicious irony to it…
As for the clothes, I mean, it’s just too even to be damage. Both sleeves are the same length, both pant legs are the same length, and they are not tattered looking. The back of the coat is proportionate to the sleeves, but too short for his legs (it normally comes down to a bit below knee length, now it’s mid thigh) and still has the slit in the back which would be gone if it had just been hacked off… he’s grown. (though admittedly, since they do not have any other object in there for scale, it’s a little hard to say for certain) Which means the coat and armor will get wrecked, most likely, (shame, since i really like his current costume) but we saw in God of Thunder #25 that he will get a new costume with fur over the shoulders and armored arms, so…
