When it comes to women in metal no other genre impresses more than folk metal. For a lot of bands, the female member (usually the singer, so the primary spot of attention) will end up becoming the face of the band, which will suddenly define a whole new “genre” (i.e. a specific consumer market) by the name of “female fronted”. But not in folk metal. In folk metal you’ll see some of the biggest bands in the genre having not only female singers, but also players, who will be just there, members like every other member. They’re playing all kinds of instruments: accordion, keyboards, bass, violin… now that is what I call inclusive.
