Except that Loki has 40+ years of cool under his belt….
I think the complaint is more in regards to MOVIE Loki. Comics Loki is indeed awesome, and the fans of the comic are mostly pretty cool. But if you check the tags, you will find very little about the comics in there. All movie/Hiddleston stuff. And, while I liked him well enough in the movies, and I love Hiddleston’s obvious enthusiasm for the character, yeah, the movie fandom is pretty nuts. Their version of the character bears almost no resemblance to what actually happened on screen, constantly making excuses for awful things he did (he’s a bad guy in the movies, accept it, don’t try to make him into a victim. Evil can be fun!) and oh god, the ships, they are so bizarre. It’s tainting a good character, really, you can’t say you are a Loki fan, especially if you are a girl, without being lumped in with THEM.
