After reading All Star Western 17, I really want a 19th century Stormwatch book staring Jenny Freedom
I highly approve of Jenny Freedom, she was a complete badass. It was almost like having Jenny Sparks back… I also liked how they handled her powers, having them power steampunk style gadgets.
OREO Separator Machine #1 - Creator: Physicist David Neevel (by Oreo)
I can’t really explain why, but abandoned places like this have always fascinated me. Maybe it’s the stories they can tell. So much more interesting than the cut and paste type of architecture that has become the norm today….
“I was already feeling uncomfortable with the Daedric Prince quests after giving Clavicus the Rueful Axe, but it was nearly killing Erandur that did it for me. Five minutes after the Skull of Corruption was destroyed, Silus Vesuius was dead and his Mythic Dawn artifacts were floating in the harbor.”

To be fair, not all the Daedric Princes are evil, you have to decide on a quest by quest basis which ones your character would be comforable with doing. Meridia and Azura are both firmly on the side of good, imo. and Silus is just misguided, if you follow the Mehrunes Dagon quest to it’s conclusion you can see that.
Holy shit… I never noticed this before. Mind blown.
This is a fascinating read (well, to me anyway). Sometimes, when you are so familiar with the language of comics, either as a creator or a reader, you get to the point where things that would be baffling to the layperson are second nature to you, and you don’t even think about it. that someone might not understand a comic seems strange, because we know the secret language, and can compensate when they do something with the layout that might be confusing to someone unfamiliar with the medium (either due to lack of storytelling skill, or them trying to do something different and innovative). I think there is definitely a place for comics that push boundaries in terms of structure, layout etc. but I think more people have to remember to put clarity over coming up with strange and innovative layouts sometimes. I’m not saying we have to dumb comics down, just prioritize storytelling over pretty.

“Lamb of Columbia” Trailer (by IrrationalGames)
Looking forward to this :D
One panel a day, Monday to Friday at warrenellis.com.
oooh! New Warren Ellis webcomic! :D
While I don’t agree that comic book Tony doesn’t have any redeeming qualities, there are a ton of characters that i enjoy reading about who I would HATE if they were real and i happened to meet them. I like characters who are interesting, and that often includes flaws. Interesting doesn’t always equal nice. They tend to drive more engaging stories, when they are faced with a moral decision, it’s less sure what they may do in that situation, which adds suspense. Also, asshole characters have more room for growth.

This is him trying to act tough! XD
I can understand the appeal, even though i find people excusing/justifying his villainous ways just because they think he’s hot is a bit disturbing… but I’m more about Thor, personally.
“Before playing Skyrim, I made a detailed and organized list of all the mods I was going to download, watched every episode of MMOxReviews’s Skyrim Mod’s Weekly and found everything I wanted on Skyrim Nexus. I figured I should enjoy my first experience of the game in style.”

That’s actually a really bad thing to do imo. Mods should be used after your first playthrough at the very least, because then you can at least appreciate the original design of the game and the intent of the creators. But to each their own.
I agree when it comes to things that change content, or add new (often overpowered) gear, but stuff like Sky UI, Quality World Map, inventory sorters, quick menu overhauls and texture packs should be installed early. I mean, sure, give the vanilla UI’s and textures a chance, but don’t force yourself to play the whole game with the default UI and NPC’s missing toes and grainy face textures if you think a mod could make it better. You don’t need the whole game to decide if you want those aspects changed.
If there weren’t reported injuries and panic I’d be a little more at ease to say that is fucking awesome.
now that’s a BOOM.
Russian Meteor: What’s With All The Dash Cams?
If, like me, you were sitting dumbstruck watching Youtube videos depicting a raging ball of fire falling out of the sky in the early hours this morning, you may have been equally dumbstruck by the sheer number of eyewitness videos. There are videos of the object exploding into a bright orb, there’s dramatic footage of the moment when the shock wave blew out windows, but above all, there’s a crazy number of videos shot from the dashboards of cars. What’s that about? Read more
I WAS kinda wondering this…. a bit sad, but got some great footage
From ComicsAlliance’s Sexist Comic Men list (emphasis mine):
17. Midnighter
(The Authority, etc. DC/Wildstorm)
Created by Warren Ellis, Bryan Hitch
He’s rugged, he’s macho, and his entire wardrobe consists of black leather. Remember when Midnighter was happily married and didn’t have a spike on his chin? Someone needs to slap the walls of the DC universe to bring this sexy back.I remember those days, those were good times *sigh*.
Apollo should have beat Midnighter, or at least been on the list! also, Nightcrawler should have ranked higher. I don’t care if he’s blue, he’s still sexy. Still, I was happy to see Midnighter and Nightcrawler both made the list!
re your tags, I don’t know if you read the solicits, or if you were talking about the last issue to hit the stands, but he’s back to his old costume as of issue 19. Like, exactly the Bryan Hitch design, coat and all, not a single spike in sight. Then the next cover, he’s all like kicking some aliens in the face, as he should be. Stormwatch is getting a complete overhaul.
sorry, I just have to keep posting that when I see someone pining for the old costume, incase they didn’t realize it’s actually back soon (and Apollo too… mostly. they gave him some arm bands and a belt, but otherwise it’s like Hitch’s design)

We’re not big on the popular term ‘superhero’ here at StormWatch, but if there’s a finer hero on this planet than Nikolas Kamarov here, they’re either lying or Jesus.
Oh, I miss Winter. And this scene was hilarious, there was even more goofy costumes that he tried on, before finally emerging with a stylish Hitch designed costume. It’s cool we’re getting Hellstrike back and all, but Winter was my favorite of the non-Ellis created (I’m sorry, but no one can compare to Jenny Sparks) Stormwatch characters and I would have liked to see him first. ‘Sides, I don’t think DC has any energy absorbers, unless you count several solar powered characters, so he’d bring something unique to the DCU.
Great interview with Jim Starlin, incoming writer on DC’s Stormwatch. Surprisingly honest too - “DC editorial pretty universally thought Stormwatch wasn’t working out.”
Unusual but pleasant to see blunt honesty in comics-related journalism.
Yeah, he was incredibly candid, and I appreciated that. No spin, just ‘it wasn’t working out, we’re trying to fix it’
Also some interesting revelations. From the sounds of it, it really is a total reboot, where it’s actually retconning past events. From the solicits, I thought it was kind of a half-reboot, with no retcon, just the current team getting lost in another dimension and their alternates taking their place. This makes it sound like it’s more of a warping of reality, similar to what Pandora did, but on a smaller scale. Though they both have a similar end result, this is even riskier, imo, because it’s harder to go back if THIS doesn’t work out, and will anger the fans who actually liked the earlier Stormwatch issues more, since those events are being erased from continuity. But on the other hand, it means they can still have a connection to the larger DCU as a whole. He SAID they were still secretive, but on the other hand, you have Storm Control *cough*Bendix*cough* wearing an ARGUS helmet, so… (of course, that just makes sense. With all of Stormwatch’s eye/watching imagery, a connection with ARGUS, an organization with a eye logo and named after a figure in Greek myth with a thousand eyes, would make complete sense)
Thirteen-year-old Lauren Rojas decided to send Hello Kitty 100,000 feet into space with a high-altitude balloon. Here are her recorded results.
Science!
FYI: It’s not “space”… but I’ll let this one slide as it’s a Hello Kitty in a little rocket in the stratosphere! Loves it.
the original super husbands
That’s my boys <3
Shhhh…no one tell Fox News that the “wedding kiss” picture they’re using to accompany a piece about traditional gender roles is actually of a same sex couple. (MADE MY DAY)
BWHAHA! that’s hilarious.
Another costume change, Beast Boy is green again. All the costume changes are happening at about the same time, Midnighter and Apollo in April, Power Girl and Beast boy in May… I think DC just gave up. :p Unfortunately, all of the Teen Titans are in the same costumes as before.
