The Strange Case of Grant Morrison and Alan Moore, As Told By Grant Morrison

The Strange Case of Grant Morrison and Alan Moore, As Told By Grant Morrison:

This is a very long, but interesting, read. After having gone through all of it, I have to say I’m siding with Grant here overall (though he’s been a dick on occasion, not denying that). He brings up more points that are verifiable, and he sticks up for other writers like Peter Milligan and Geoff Johns when he technically didn’t have to since it was supposed to be just about him and Alan Moore, which gets him points with me. And let’s face it, Alan Moore, though a great writer, is… prickly. He has burned more bridges than pretty much anyone else in comics… And I have to agree with Morrison about his assessment of Moore being entirely negative when talking about current comics, he never seems to have anything nice to say, and it’s true, he continually tries to imply that everyone is being derivative of him. While that may be an appropriate view to take on something like Before Watchmen specifically, it’s not really fair to extend that to their other work…
