So… remember that pegasus I was doing? well, the line art is done now, (has been done for a long time actually) all those tedious repetitive feathers. Now I’m a bit torn on the shading. The thing is, from the very start, I wanted him to be a leopard spot appaloosa. So I drew spots, simple enough. It looked fine. Now, shading spots requires a special technique, (which I perfected just for Kent since Galen is also an appaloosa, incidentally) otherwise, well I’m sure you can imagine it becomes a bit of a pain. So I shaded it on another layer, and that gets overlayed later. The shading isn’t quite finished yet, but so far? I like it. I like it a lot. But then when you overlay it with the spots, the shading kinda gets lost, and I’m sad…. so… I dunno. what do you all think? should the spots stay or go?
