Wreck-It Ralph presents “Garlan Hulse: Where Potential Lives” (by DisneyWreckItRalph)

It’s like half an hour long, but totally worth it. A faux documentary about the former high score holder of Fix it Felix Jr.

Listen to a surprisingly good mashup of "Head Like A Hole" and "Call Me Maybe" :

This doesn’t seem like it should even remotely work, yet it somehow does.

noooooo… The whole point is that you make up your own character and be creative. I like some games that have a predefined protagonist just fine, but that’s not The Elder Scrolls. By creating a backstory they would be going against most players personal canon and restrict what kinds of characters would fit official canon. How could you even do a single backstory that covers, say, an Argonian assassin, a Nord berserker, a Khajiit thief, an Altmer mage, and a Dunmer refugee? Or what about a modded in race? I have a Snow Elf character who is mightily pissed at the Nords (and Dwemer, but they’re dead) after their, you know, mostly successful genocide and all, and being forced to live in secrecy his whole life, you really think it’s even possible for Bethesda could do a DLC that would cover that and ALSO would cover a Stormcloak sympathizing Nord who had lived in Whiterun their whole life?

Dynamic Robot Manipulation (by BostonDynamics)

“BigDog handles heavy objects. The goal is to use the strength of the legs and torso to help power motions of the arm. This sort of dynamic, whole-body approach to manipulation is used routinely by human athletes and will enhance the performance of advanced robots. Boston Dynamics is developing the control and actuation techniques needed for dynamic manipulation. The cinderblock weighs about 35 lbs and the best throw is a bit more than 17 ft. The research is funded by the Army Research Laboratory’s RCTA program.”

So, uh....

I’ve just been reading up on what’s been going on in Teen Titans and Red Hood and the Outlaws, (I don’t actually read them, cus I hate Lobdell’s writing in general. Normally I don’t comment on what I don’t read, but… damn…) and of course Batman Inc which I actually read… Not a good time to be a fan of any of the Robins past or present, huh? Except maybe Nightwing, he seems to have gotten off pretty easy recently in comparison. And so close together, too, traumatic events just happening over the span of weeks.

Wouldn’t be so bad if it was in the hands of a competent writer, but I have NO faith in Lobdell handling Tim’s (and Cassie’s) mind-control rape with any sort of tact, he may not even acknowledge that it was rape at all, and Jason’s face getting melted off just seems like it was done for pure shock value and is not going to be easy to undo… (and if it IS easily undone, it will feel even more cheap and tacky) at least with Damian, Morrison’s a good writer, and has been building towards this, and I have faith that he’ll handle it and the aftermath well. (Also, the whole story involves Talia Al Ghul, there could very well be a Lazarus Pit in Damian’s future)
