what about like. a vampire who is just this weird immortal relative. like maybe at one point they were a parent, and were turned into a vampire, and in stead of like abandoning their family out of guilt or fear, they stuck around through generations and generations in their family and its been hundreds of years and they still stick around and have this huge extended family of people who love them, that weird distant relative who like nobody is sure how they’re related but they are

like a child in their family is born and the mom is like, this is your weird relative who is nocturnal, and the vampire gets to hold the baby and is in all the family photos and everyone is like ‘yeah this is fine, my grandpa knew them so’

This just makes me think of the sims.

This is the perfect position for the maiden aunt who grows her own food and is vaguely into witchcraft that we all have

Like imagine a kid being raised with an “Aunt Mel” and just assuming she’s their mother’s sister but when they’re a teenager their mum is like “oh no she’s actually my aunt, she’s your grandad’s sister” and eventually the kid asks their grandad and he’s like “I’m pretty sure she’s my aunt. Or my great-aunt? She might be some kind of family friend, anyway.”

“Pa she looks 30 years old”

“She always has, we just kind of go with it”

Where is the fucking reply button?

Replies are gone, tracked tags are gone (unless you go to tag/whatever manually it will redirect to search/whatever). You can salvage both with Xkit I think, but yeah Tumblr did this, it’s not just you. :/

WAT. Seriously. I just… I am genuinely boggling at this. They removed an essential communication feature and it’s not a bug - they did it on purpose? What the actual tapdancing fuck. “Making People Want To Stop Using Our Site” is not a business model I was previously aware of. I mean, I would love to see an official reason for this, I’d love to see the attempt to sell this in any way. And as for tracking tags… *shaking head* arrgh. Thank you for confirming that I wasn’t seeing things - this is absolutely maddening!

wait, replies are gone?  :-/ sometimes i just don’t feel like broadcasting my reply to someone all over my blog… I guess there’s Disqus too, if they have it enabled.

But yeah, I have been using Xkit to do tracked tags for a while now.

crayonic:

For people who are actually interested in how viking music might have sounded, “Drømde mik en drøm i nat“ (/I dreamt a dream last night) is the earliest music (and lyrics) known in Scandinavia preserved on the last page of the (~1200-1300) Codex Runicus as rune notes.

The song and melody is still known and used today in most of Scandinavia, as a sort of folk-standard. This version, deceivingly slow in the beginning, is presented as close to the original sound of the years 900-1000 as historians think they can come.

This song might have survived because it was a gigantic hit, like the viking’s very own “Billie Jean”. A total pop slayer that stayed around long enough for music notes to be invented.

The more you know.
